וַיֶּחֱזַ֤ק הָעָם֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר אַחֲרֵ֣י עָמְרִ֔י אֶת־הָעָ֕ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר אַחֲרֵ֖י תִּבְנִ֣י בֶן־גִּינַ֑ת וַיָּ֣מָת תִּבְנִ֔י וַיִּמְלֹ֖ךְ עָמְרִֽי׃ (פ)
Aber das Volk, das Omri folgte, setzte sich gegen das Volk durch, das Tibni, dem Sohn Ginaths, folgte. so starb Tibni und Omri regierte.
Rashi on I Kings
And Tivni died. When Asa took Omri’s daughter in marriage for Yehoshofot his son, they killed Tivni,4Alternatively, he died a natural death and thereby Omri ruled undisputedly.—Radak See v. 23 below and Rashi there. when they saw Omri’s prominence; according to Seder Olam.
